Overview of ITAM Training and Certificate Program in Trade Association Management

We run certificate Course, Diploma and Graduate Programs on Trade Association Management, with tailor made training for trade association leaders and members in diverse sector, both those operating in the formal and informal sector.

Coverage

Our program equips her learners with the capacity to:

Certificate Courses/Program and Requirement

The Certificate Courses can be taken individually or as a group.

·         The Certificate Courses are designed for persons with little or no working experience in a trade association environment.

·         For those with less than 3 to 4 years working experience in trade associations

·         For the newly employed managers, newly promoted or newly elected professionals into leadership positions in a trade association who want to apply a more organized approach to help achieve success in their organizations.

·         For Artisans in diverse trades and operators in the informal sector.

·         Professionals, Managers, and Operators in the formal sectors that desire competence in trade association leadership.

·         Those applying must have passed the West Africa Senior School Certificate Exam (SSCE, GCE), or Junior School Certificate (JSS), or hold a trade test certificates I, II, and III issued by the Federal Ministry of Trade, Labor and Productivity.

·         Those holding Diploma certificates, and other higher certificates are eligible to apply also.

Certificate shall be issued for single courses covered.

Award - What Participants Gets on Completion

Certificate shall be issued for single courses covered per time.

General Certificate and Diploma Program

General Certificate

Upon completion of the 5 single courses, elective course inclusive, participants will receive a General Certificate in Trade Association Management (GTAM) awarded by ITAM faculty.

Diploma

Upon completion of the 8 single courses, elective course inclusive, participants will receive a Diploma Certificate in Association Management (DCAM) awarded by ITAM faculty.

Diploma Certificate in Association Management (DCAM) awarded by ITAM faculty.

Upon completion and attainment of the Diploma Certificate in Association Management (DCAM), participants are eligible to proceed to the Professional Diploma stage.

Professional Diploma

Upon completion of the 12 single courses, elective course inclusive, participants will receive the Professional Diploma in Association Management (PDAM) awarded by ITAM faculty.

Professional Diploma in Association Management (PDAM) awarded by ITAM faculty.

Upon completion and attainment of the Professional Diploma in Association Management (PDAM), participants are eligible to proceed to the Graduate Program.

Associate Stage

Requirement

Upon completion and attainment of the Professional Diploma in Association Management (PDAM), participants are eligible to proceed to the Graduate Program; attend classes and pass 5 single courses on this stage, whereafter successful participants shall be admitted into the Associate membership and receive an Associate Certification in Trade Association Management (ATAM) awarded by ITAM faculty.  

Other Consideration

For Those members holding a first degree, HND or a Postgraduate diploma or Master certificates from a recognized institution in any discipline, or executive certificates from other professional bodies or institutes in any discipline with at least 5 years of working experience in a Trade Association environment shall be required to attend our Mandatory Orientation Programs (MOP) for orientation and assessment for admittance into the Associate membership of the Institute of Trade Association Management (ATAM)

Award - What Participants Gets on Completion

i.                    Graduate Diploma in Association Management (GTAM) awarded by ITAM faculty.

ii.                   Associate certificate of the Institute of Trade Associations Management

Notes

Associate membership grade attracts an annual membership fee of N15,000 which become due after every 12months calendar year.

They are also required to join in the Institute (ITAM) Mandatory Orientation Programs (MOP)

Registration and Admittance fees is N150,000.00

Fellowship Grade

Requirement

Upon attainment of the Associate grade in Trade Association Management (ATAM) participants are eligible to apply for the fellowship grade of the Institute of Trade Association Management.

Other Consideration

For Those members holding a first degree, HND or a Postgraduate diploma or Masters certificates from a recognized institution in any discipline, or executive certificates from other professional bodies or institutes with  good track records  in addition to 10 years working experience and above in a Trade Association environment, but does not hold the Associate membership grade, such member shall be required to attend our Mandatory Annual Orientation Programs (MAOP) for orientation and assessment for admittance into the Fellowship grade of the Institute of  Trade Association Management (FITAM).

Submission of list of articles, books and publication, available online links and citation are also required.

Award - What Participants Gets on Completion

i.                    Certified Trade Association Manager (CTAM) awarded by ITAM faculty.

ii.                   Certificate, Fellow of the Institute of Trade Associations Management (FITAM)

Notes

Members in the Fellowship grade is required to attend the Mandatory Annual Orientation Programs (MAOP) with payment of the annual membership fees of N25,000 which become due after every 12months calendar year.

Registration and Admittance fees is N200,000.00

GUIDANCE

Each course will take 2-4 hours to complete. Followed by a completion of an assignment and assessment.  The certificate program can be taken online through a specified digital platform on regular basis. The link shall be provided on request upon confirmation of registration.

Doctoral Certificate – (Honorary Award)

Doctoral Certificate in Trade Associations Management. Do check back for update….

Applicant must have been a Fellow Member of the Institute; have contributed significantly to the development of trade associations or other non-profit- organizations, having occupied a senior managerial position; coupled with proven reputation; letter of attestation obtained from member of the council of the institute; defend dissertation before the Assessment Committee. Such applicant must have acquired over 10 years working experience with high professional standing in the academic or a business world.

Candidates holding a master degree with PhD in other discipline with academic research and publications in either Industrial Relations, Public Relations, Pure-sciences and Engineering, Business Administration, Business Management, Law, Sustainable Development, Personnel Management, Learning and Development, Knowledge Management, Human Resource, and management consulting e.t.c. can also apply.
